Australia Day Festival

This Australia Day we are taking the time to Reflect, Respect and Celebrate the diverse and unique country we call home by staging events, markets, concerts and an immersive exhibition of sound and light across five full days of festival fun.

Reflect on what we went through in 2020 and get excited about what lies ahead this year.
Respect our Aboriginal and multicultural history.
Celebrate with food, concerts, culture, roving entertainment, a Big Aussie Barbeque and heaps more!

Check out the event links below to see what is on across the five-day program and be sure to check back often as we add more details to this stellar line-up.

Oh and don’t forget there is 3 hours of free parking at all City of Perth Carparks on weekends and public holidays!

Australia Day is a time to reflect, respect and celebrate.

This year, we reflect on the sacrifice of thousands of first responders and frontline workers.

  • We respect their contribution and celebrate their courage.
  • We reflect on the resilience of communities and the spirit of helping, giving and supporting that defines us as Australians.
  • We reflect on our nation’s true history and celebrate our place in the world – a proud, ancient, multicultural nation built on shared values.

Take a moment to watch the below video from our partner Auspire – the Australia Day Council WA and see how we’re all part of the story.

A COVID Safe Australia Day Festival

The City of Perth is committed to keeping the community safe and healthy by implementing Covid Safe Measures as advised by the State Government of Western Australia and you can do your bit too.

  • Stay home if you are unwell
  • Practice physical distancing
  • Observe good hand hygiene and use the hand sanitiser provided
  • Contact tracing is required at all events, achieved via pre-registering for a ticket (ticketed events only) and by downloading the SafeWA app, to check-in upon arrival.

Thank you to all our partners who have made the Australia Day Festival possible.
