As uncertain days unfold, as we cancel plans and stay home, we’ve been given the chance to reflect upon who and what is important to us. Far away from the toilet paper aisle there is an emerging sense of community. We want to do our bit to support those who are vulnerable; be it people we know, or those behind our local traders that, no doubt, are doing it tough.

With Mother’s Day coming up on May 10, now is a great opportunity to support local while paying tribute to our ever-loving mamas. There are interesting initiatives on offer from our local outlets right here in the City of Perth and some from our neighbours in the Town of Vic Park which we think mum will love!

Gift Cards
Spa treatments may be out for now but Endota Spa has extended the expiry on all gift cards for an additional six months. Give mum a treatment to look forward to, or if she won’t wait that long, she can spend it in their online store, which currently has 20% off their Rest and Restore range.

Staying in might just be that little bit easier if you know you have an exciting adventure on the horizon. Local providers of unique cultural and tourism experiences Two Feet and a Heartbeat, Little Ferry Co and Go Cultural Aboriginal Tours and Experiences are all offering discounts on selected gift certificates.

Up Close and Local Tours
is a boutique tour company run by local Vic Park couple Paul and Shannon. They specialise in tours showcasing some of the best craft producers and hidden gems of Perth’s food and wine scene. While they may not be able to run their tours right now, they have gift vouchers available online for that perfect post-isolation day trip.

Free Delivery
Help mum while away the hours with a nice book. Planet Books is now offering free local delivery. We recommend the new biog by Tan France, because what mama doesn’t love a stylish man?

What's the perfect thing to brighten up a home that she'll be spending much more time in? Flowers of course! Beans and Bunches has loads of options for you to choose - posies, native flowers and even dried everlasting arrangements. Beyond the floral there's also hampers, candles and even indoor plants with beautiful pots. Free for local delivery or pick-up between 9-11am.

Northbridge clothing and accessory boutique Chachi has extended their free delivery offer until the end of April and most excitingly are launching their biggest sale ever with 25% off store-wide! Literally the perfect opportunity to stock up on all of those beautiful brands!

For the mum that loves to rock! Noise Pollution Records is offering free local delivery and has a comprehensive online store.

Sue Lewis Chocolatier has a brand-new website and is offering free delivery or click n collect. Take advantage of the free one-hour parking to pop in while maintaining social distancing.

Flowers and Flour tick all the boxes, supplying not only beautiful floral arrangements, but also a range of cakes, tarts and other baked goods. The good news is that home deliveries are available, and free to certain suburbs in and around the Town of Victoria Park. The bad news is that you may find it difficult to not splurge on an item (or three) for yourself. For details on how to order, head to their Facebook.

What Else?
Private, after-hours shopping bookings… what a dream! Ruck Rover has come to the party for your own personal shopping experience. Staying in? That’s good too! Take advantage of their free local delivery and online fit advice.

With the swoosh of an email you can send mum some serious belly laughs. The Comedy Lounge is streaming exclusive 30 minute clips from recent shows for the low low price of $1. Pop your details in and they’ll send you a link. So simple and all the money goes to the Lounge’s comics and staff who have been affected by the closures.

Little Paint Co. have you covered if you are looking to get a bit creative or want to take up a new hobby. With a range of take home kits available, each comes with a ceramic item of choice, paint, brushes, sponges and instructions. Once your Mum has completed her piece all she needs to do is drop her item off for firing and glazing and then it’s ready to use!

Or why not spoil your mum with a lovely Mother's Day High Tea at home including a beautiful selection of sweet treats and savoury delights organised by the team at Bar Uma and Pan Pacific Perth. The perfect idea for a stunning afternoon tea at home or a picnic in the park close by.You just need to order ahead and pick up on Sunday 10th May before you can indulge in the prettiest of treats.
