Curator tour - Civic Visions | Council House 1954 - 1963
The path to building Council House was long and difficult.
After decades of discussion, the decision to build a new civic administration centre for the city of Perth led to a national architecture competition, and a building required to be built as quickly as possible as international events turned the spotlight on the state capital.
Join co-curator Dr Nicole Sully to hear how this exhibition reveals the debates, the decisions and the designs which resulted in one of Australia's foremost Modernist buildings.
