NAVRATRI - The Dance Festival
Gujarati Samaj of WA is celebrating culture of Gujarat state since last 25 years. Gujarat is an Indian state located in the western part. Gujarat is one of most prosperous state of India. It is land of entrepreneurs and industrialist.
This dance festival showcases the very vibrant and unique culture of Gujarat called “NAVRATRI”- NAV means Nine and RATRI means nights. It is festival for nine nights celebrated in the month of October.
The main objective of this festival is to celebrate and to salute the power of women within our lives and within our society. People of all ages gather in beautiful dresses and enjoy dancing with traditional live music.
This festival brings family together and its rhythmic dance steps are quite soothing and stress relieving.
This will be an unique event and the first of its kind in Perth. This event will be a smoke free, alcohol free event promoting quality family time for all Australians, as music and dance can surpass all language barriers. You will see that this festival, apart from being a celebration also incorporates physical activity in the form of energetic dance movements for all ages regardless of their fitness level.
