Cottesloe Beach

Cottesloe Beach is a top tourist destination and for good reason. Perfect for swimming, snorkelling and surfing with a huge tiered grass area for prime sunset viewing or relaxing with friends.

Picnics at Cottesloe beach are easy with ample shade and sprawled grass to the north and south of the central beachfront Indiana building. Cottesloe provides changing rooms, showers, accessible toilets and drinking water facilities. To the north of the Indiana building there is a large kids playground and stationary workout equipment.

Many options for dine-in and takeaway food and beverage are situated at the beachfront. Perch up on the sand with Amberjacks famous fish and chips and finish your evening with gelato from the Gelato Bar Cottesloe. If picnics aren't your thing the historic Cottesloe Beach Hotel, built in 1905 makes a mean cocktail and hosts the best seats in the house for a sunset meal.

In March of each year the Cottesloe Beach is transformed into an outdoor gallery of giant art installations at Sculpture by the sea. A free exhibition on the shoreline allows visitors to wander on the sand and submerge themselves in the art.

Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club patrol the northern side of the beach for 1.5km in the summer months.
