Skyworks at Perth Foreshore

Nestled on the banks of the stunning Swan River, Perth is one of the prettiest and most isolated cities in the world.

Come and explore the city where you’ll find shopping, eating, drinking and loads of attractions just waiting to be discovered. The only question now is…where to start?

Celebrate with your City along Perth Foreshore. Stretching approximately 1.5km from the east end of Langley Park to the Bell Tower,
there’s plenty of space to secure your spot.

The Perth Foreshore offers a full day experience, kicking things off with the free Lotterywest Entertainment Zone,
the Birak Concert at Supreme Court Gardens and of course the Air Show.

Then make sure you're in position for the 8pm Skyworks show.

  • Parking and road closures

    Car parks closest to Skyworks: 

    • Concert Hall, Terrace Road

    • Please take note that Terrace Road Car Park will be closed to parking on 26 January to make way for entertainment. 

    Avoid queues at the end of the night and prepay your parking when you arrive. Due to road closures exiting may be delayed in some carparks up until 11.30pm. 

    Park from 6pm to 5.59am and receive the night rate, ranging from $8 to $16.80 depending on the car park.

  • Public transport

    Trains will run on a Sunday timetable with extra capacity and additional services. After the fireworks, trains will run as follows: 

    • Elizabeth Quay Station: Mandurah Line passengers only  
    • Perth Underground: (enter from Murray Street Mall, West end) - Joondalup Line passengers only 
    • Perth Station: Armadale, Thornlie, Fremantle and Midland line passengers only. 
    • Armadale Line: Platform 5. Enter from Wellington Street main entrance. 
    • Thornlie Line: Platform 4. Enter from Eastern Concourse or Wellington Street main entrance. 
    • Fremantle Line: Platform 7. Enter from Eastern Concourse.
    • Midland Line: Platform 8. Enter from Eastern Concourse. 

    Wheelchairs, prams and other wheeled vehicles are not permitted on escalators, so passengers are required to use the lifts if travelling with these items. 

    In addition to the timetabled buses, Transperth will be running extra services to and from the city for Skyworks. Please note, a number of bus services will be required to deviate from their normal route due to road closures in the city, South Perth and Kings Park.  

    Ferry services will operate on a Sunday timetable until 12 noon only. After this time, both the Mends Street Jetty and the Elizabeth Quay Ferry Terminal will be closed.

    Please remember the buses and trains will be busy after the Skyworks. Delays are expected so your patience is much appreciated. 

  • Is this event accessible?
    Skyworks is proudly an accessible event. In addition to temporary ACROD parking, you can expect accessible toilets and baby change facilities, accessible matting on grass, quiet zones and dedicated viewing areas at the Birak Concert and for the fireworks. There is even an accessible entertainment area! Did you know that the fireworks are audio-described and Auslan interpreted?

  • Toilet Access
    Temporary toilet facilities including accessible toilets are located along Langley Park and Terrace Road Car Park.
  • Lost Children
    There will be five Lost Child points within the Skyworks event areas, staffed by the Constable Care Child Safety Foundation. The Lost Child points will be located at Langley Park, Kings Park, Sir James Mitchell Park (South Perth) and Supreme Court Gardens.  

    If you lose a child 
    Please check in with the Lost Child point closest to you. If your child is not there, Constable Care Child Safety Foundation staff will work with event security to assist in locating your child.  

    If you find a lost child 
    Accompany the lost child to the nearest Lost Child point. Alternatively, a Police Officer or Security Guide will accompany children to the nearest Lost Child point.  

    Parents can collect a Constable Care Safety Band from one of the five Lost Child points upon arrival, write their contact details on it and attach it to their child’s wrist. 
  • Can I drink at Langley Park? 
    Yes, within the designated BYO Picnic Zone only. The BYO Picnic Zone is Bounded by Terrace Road, Plain Street and Victoria Avenue – extending to the Swan River foreshore directly opposite Langley Park.  

    Limited alcohol can be consumed between 6.30pm and 8.45pm. 

    18+ event-goers may bring either one six pack of beer or mixed drinks, or one bottle of wine per adult. Anyone not abiding by these conditions will be required to leave the event. 

    Remember, all other areas of the City of Perth Skyworks are alcohol-free zones at all times. 
  • First Aid location and sunscreen spots

    A number of First Aid Stations will be located around the foreshore on Langley Park. Free sunscreen is available at each of these First Aid Stations and the information tent on Langley Park (Victoria Avenue). 

    Please make note of the nearest First Aid Station to you and if required please ask Event or Security staff for directions to the nearest First Aid Station. Locations are also available on the event map. 

    The SunSmart Van will be located at the Water Playground on Langley Park for all your sun safety needs – purchase hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, you name it!

  • Are there speakers at Perth Foreshore?

    Yes, speakers are located along Perth foreshore near Riverside Drive from Plain Street to Governor’s Avenue. Check the map for speaker locations for the official City of Perth Australia Day Skyworks broadcast, including a perfectly timed soundtrack to the fireworks. If you wish to benefit from these speakers, ensure your location can hear the broadcast throughout the afternoon. Alternatively, bring your own analogue radio to broadcast the soundtrack.
