We’ve rounded up some of our favourites around the City, so grab your go‑to drop and get ready to discover your new favourite spot.

Francoforte

Shop 4, 189 William St Northbridge

Hidden down Williams Lane in Northbridge, Francoforte Spaghetti Bar is unpretentious and cosy, offering authentic, affordable Italian fare. The menu is small but creative, with options like kangaroo bolognese and kale pesto. There are two sizes to choose from depending how hungry you are, as well as plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. BYO is available, for wine only, at $5 a head.

City Garden

11/68 Roe St, Northbridge

A favourite among local chefs, City Garden is a stalwart of the China Town food scene. They’re serving up authentic Chinese food well into the early hours of the morning, so it’s perfect whether you’re looking for a cheap and cheerful post-work dinner or refuelling after a Saturday night boogie. You can either purchase drinks there or bring your own and pay for corkage.

Short Order

800 Hay St, Perth

Since opening in 2015, Short Order have expanded to three locations across Perth, helped along by their seriously loyal fan-base. Their patties are made of a combo of angus and wagyu beef, all served on a pillow-soft milk bun – they also have chicken, gluten free, vegan and vego options, so your whole group’s covered when it comes to dietaries. Wash it all down with one of their famous milkshakes or bring your own beer or wine and enjoy free corkage.

Ask any Perth resident and they’ve probably had at least one night out in Northbridge that's either started or ended at Uncle Billy’s. With a 14-page menu, they’ve got pretty much any Chinese dish you could want - they’ve also got a selection of beer, spirits and wine on offer, or you can BYO.

Jaws Sushi

Shop 1, 726 Hay St, Perth

Australia’s first sushi train, Jaws has been one of Perth’s favourite sushi spot for more than 30 years. BYO is $3 a head, but while you’ll be saving money on drinks, their endless conveyor belt of fresh Japanese classics makes it easy to go all in on food.

Chilli Panda

Unit 2/137 Newcastle St, Perth

The local competition might be pretty stiff, but Chilli Panda still manages to stand out amongst Perth’s Chinese food offerings. Their traditional Hunan dishes are loaded with chilli so they’re not for the faint of heart, but if you’re keen to feel the heat then you’re bound to be obsessed.
