South Beach

This serene bay is perfect for kids and inexperienced swimmers as well as stand up paddle boarding. A popular for snorkelling the marine life on the outer reef is plentiful. A great spot to build up your confidence snorkelling and diving with diving courses offered nearby.

Soft white sand or a large grassy area makes for a great picnic spot. Free BBQ’s, picnic tables, timber gazebos are plenty. There is a huge kids playground next to the conveniently placed South Beach Café. Just a short stroll away is the notoriously vibrant Fremantle cappuccino strip with many food and beverage offerings.

The newly developed South Beach sports hub caters to basketball, futsal, roller-hockey, volleyball and wheelchair basketball right on the shoreline.

Free for use beach wheelchair is available and can be booked via the City of Fremantle. Fremantle Surf Life Saving Club patrol the beach in the summer months.
